Just a little more information about some of the highlights you will experience Cliffs of Moher Tour.
Cliffs of Moher & Galway City Tour (Summer Itinerary): from the 1st of April to the 31st of September
Arrive in Galway and begin a relaxing guided walk of this charming medieval city. Hear the Legends of the Claddagh, Spanish Arch & St. Nick’s Church. See Castle and the Old City Walls with stories to tell, and much, much more… all with a local guide. This is followed by an hour of free time for you to explore on your own and grab a snack in one of the many award winning cafes and restaurants. You will then meet your guide and rejoin your coach.
From Kinvara we wave goodbye to the county of Galway as we enter the county of Clare and the home of the ancients, The Burren. This lunar-like region is home to over 75% of Ireland’s native fauna and it also boasts dolmens and ancient Neolithic burial sites. Once here, you will understand why some consider it one of the most magical places in Ireland. We’ll show you the Poulnabrone Dolmen, a burial site dating back 5800 years, which makes it older that the pyramids in Egypt! You will encounter dolmens, faerie forts as well as the Celtic high crosses along the way as we approach the highlight of the tour.
The Cliffs of Moher
It’s time for a bit of a climb, but don’t worry, let our professional and skilled (when you see the size of the road and the size of the coach, you’ll certainly appreciate their navigational skills!) drivers get you there safely. We are heading towards the 200-metre high, 8kms long Cliffs of Moher. The Cliffs have inspired as well as enchanted thousands of people, Hollywood movie makers included. While standing at the edge, you’ll realise it’s no wonder this vista has been captured time and time again. You will have ample time to enjoy the stunning view over the Atlantic Ocean as well as the Aran Islands. Take your time wandering along the pathways and while really taking in the phenomenal natural beauty of this site. Remember, your entry to Cliffs of Moher is included in your tour ticket!
Time for Food
From The Cliffs we travel for just a few minute to a local coastal village for a hearty meal, stopping of at a local Irish Pub for Great Irish Stew or a Seafood Chowder, maybe a pint before you head back towards Galway.
Return to Galway
The day isn’t quite over yet, as we make our way back towards Galway while weaving through some beautiful scenery along the Coast Road. You’ll get a chance to admire the view over Galway Bay and Aran Islands once more while on the “Baby Cliffs” in Ballyreen. We’ll then make our way back towards Galway City and return you to Dublin.
Back to Dublin
The day’s adventures done and dusted, you can now sit back and relax while we take you back to Dublin. On our comfortable coaches you’ll have plenty of leg room to stretch out and maybe enjoy a little snooze, although you may find yourself already planning your next trip to the West! Before you know it, you’ll be back in Dublin after a day full of fun, frolics and faeries!
